New Wakefield Distribution Centre All Wrapped Up

Online Packaging Limited, Wakefield has unveiled plans to build a new state of the art distribution centre, located in Valencia Park at the Europort Estate, Castleford.

The purpose-built 16,000 square foot facility will treble the size of the company’s existing warehouse space. Building will commence in December and is scheduled for completion in August 2005.

Online Packaging, a major national supplier of packaging materials to industry, opened its Wakefield branch in 1997 to provide bespoke packaging solutions throughout Yorkshire to over 500 organisations, from smaller businesses to multi-million pound companies. Upon completion of the new warehouse, the team of 12 employees will have the capacity to service an ever increasing client base.

“Moving to a bigger and better site is an exciting step in the development of the business,” explained Roger Lawtry, director of Online Packaging Wakefield. “It’s a reflection of the effort and hard work of all our staff and is indicative of ever growing partnerships forged with our customers.

“It wasn’t easy finding space in the Wakefield area to expand, as the planning regulations are quite tight. But, thanks to Europort, we were able to work out an agreeable solution. Located just off the M62, the site is ideally situated for easy access to major industrial, manufacturing and distribution customers, the core of our business.”

Chris Hutchens, founder and managing director of Online Packaging, added: “The state of the art facility will allow us to reach out to more customers throughout the area, while improving the quality of service for which we are industry renown. It is a great opportunity and reflects our ambitious growth targets.”
